Maša Seničić, born in Belgrade in 1990, completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, where she is currently working as a research assistant on her doctoral thesis in the field of new media and memory studies. She has participated in various local and international projects, workshops and events in the fields of film, theater, visual culture and poetry – as a participant, lecturer and editor – as well as contributing to film festivals as a writer, presenter and programmer. Her prose, poetry and essays can be found in anthologies, collections and journals in the countries of the former Yugoslavia and throughout Europe. In 2015, her first poetry collection Okean (“The Ocean”) was published, which was awarded the Mladi Dis prize. For her second poetry collection Povremena poput vikend-naselja, (“As Occasional as a Cottage,” 2019) she received the Dušan Vasiljev Prize. As a freelance writer, Seničić participates in and initiates various independent interdisciplinary projects.
