Sandra Burkhardt, born in Laupheim in 1992, studied art history and literary writing in Karlsruhe and Leipzig. She currently lives and studies in Berlin. In 2018, her debut Wer A sagt („Who Says A“) was published, with which she was represented at the 2019 Poetry Recommendations for the Leipzig Book Fair. Here, ornament becomes the subject of reflections that oscillate between poetry and prose and ask about the relationship between freedom and determination as well as the production of meaning. Since 2020 she is a member of the Arab-German literature and translation collective Die Wiese.
