Norbert Lange, born in Gdynia in 1978, is a translator, essayist and poet. He came to West Germany from Poland at the age of two as the child of ethnic German immigrants and grew up in the Rhineland. From 1999 to 2001 he studied at the Free University of Berlin. In the winter semester of 2001, he transferred to the German Literature Institute in Leipzig, where he studied literary writing. He has lived in Berlin again since 2008. Lange translates English-language literature, with an emphasis on poetry, into German, with a particular focus on the experimental poetry of the United States and Great Britain. As a translator and editor, he has presented individual authors and currents in individual publications as well as extensive dossiers for the journal Schreibheft.
