Brlek, Alen

Alen Brlek was born in Zagreb in 1988. He grew up and was educated in Istria and currently lives in the town of Dugo Selo near Zagreb. He is an external collaborator of the Croatian Writers Union as an editor and a member of the European poetry platform Versopolis. He is the author of three volumes of poetry, and his poems have been presented in several national and international anthologies and translated into about 10 languages. He, along with several other Croatian poets, participated with Turkish colleagues in the Turkish Poetry Translation Program. He is currently working on a new poetic manuscript titled Halal Zumra.

reVERSible Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian – German

READING – This year’s reVERSible translation workshop will feature poetry from four successor states of the former Yugoslavia: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia. Four cultural institutions from the four countries are gathering to make such an encounter possible.
