Stefan Schmitzer, born in Graz in 1979, where he also lives today. He is a lyricist, writer, critic and performer. He studied art history, philosophy and German studies in Graz and Vienna from 1999 to 2006. From 2005 to 2009 he was a literary consultant at the Forum Stadtpark Graz. Since 2010 he has been a board member of IG Kultur Steiermark. From 2015 onwards he worked as an editor for fixpoetry for several years. Schmitzer is part of the performance collective C4. His poetry is characterized by popular culture elements and influenced by the authors of the Beat Generation, as well as German-language pop literati of the 1960s and 70s.

reVERSible Bosnian/Croatian/Montenegrin/Serbian – German

READING – This year’s reVERSible translation workshop will feature poetry from four successor states of the former Yugoslavia: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia. Four cultural institutions from the four countries are gathering to make such an encounter possible.
