Mathias Traxler, born in Basel in 1973, lives as an author and translator in Berlin. His publications include: You’re welcome (kookbooks, 2011), Unterhaltungsessays (kookbooks, 2016), Komplimente machen (hochroth, 2020), and most recently Álvaro Seiça/Mathias Traxler, previsão para 365 poemas/365 predicted poems (parasitenpresse, 2021). Soon Restaurant & Orchestre Touché – Poems, Concert Pieces, Songs by kookbooks will be published. Of particular importance in his work are readings and collaborative performances with musicians (including Harald Muenz, Edith Steyer), which incorporate text-generating improvisational elements. Traxler received the City of Münster Prize for International Poetry in 2015 (as translator of Charles Bernstein into German, together with Tobias Amslinger, Norbert Lange, Léonce W. Lupette). From July to September 2022 he is a fellow at the German Study Center in Venice. www.traxlerm.net
