Sylvana Seddig was born in Cologne in 1985 as a German-Greek. She studied contemporary dance at the ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Arnhem. As an actress, she has worked at the Thalia Theater, the Münchner Kammerspiele, Schauspiel Köln, Schauspiel Frankfurt and the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, where she has been a permanent ensemble member since the 19/20 season. Seddig has danced under the direction of national and international choreographers. She was awarded the young talent scholarship of the Kunststiftung NRW and made a guest appearance with the Batsheva Dance Company. Most recently she was a permanent ensemble member of the dance theater company bodytalk (Waki/Baumgart). She is an awardee of the DER FAUST theater prize and the Cologne Dance and Theater Prize.

PRODUCTION: What does Niyazi want in Naunynstraße?

A PRODUCTION PREMIERE – Starting in Kreuzberg’s Naunynstraße, Aras Ören’s long poems „What does Niyazi want in Naunyn Street“ “The brief dream from Kağıthane,“ and „The Foreigner is also a House“ published between 1973 and 1980, tell the stories of Turkish migrant workers – of their dreams, their fears and hopes – and also of Germans who lived in Naunynstraße for generations. The poesiefestival berlin will bring the “Berlin Trilogy” to the stage in 2022 in an adaptation by poet Björn Kuhligk, staged by director, translator, and actor Leopold von Verschuer.
