Douglas Pompeu, born in Sao Paulo, lives in Berlin as an author and translator. He has translated works by Jan Wagner, Marcel Beyer, Raphael Urweider, Arno Holz, Robert Walser, and Kurt Schwitters into Brazilian Portuguese. Some of his poems have been published in the magazines Stadtsprachen and Signaturen, and one of his stories has appeared in Lingua Franca (Art In Flow, 2019). He is currently working on his first German-language poetry collection fiktionsbescheinigung, to be published in 2022. For this, he received a working grant of German-language literature for Berlin authors from the Senate Department for Culture and Europe. Since 2017 he has been a member of the editorial team of the literary magazine alba.lateinamerika lesen.
