Louise Walleneit, *1981 in Halle Saale, lives and works in Leipzig, is a media artist, performer and artistic researcher with an explicitly interdisciplinary understanding of art. She has produced and established numerous participatory works for national and international public, analog as well as digital spaces in cooperation with museums, galleries, art associations and theaters. Her expansive interactive installations invite co-authorship, film productions accompany her performative interventions in public spaces. The central theme of her artistically explorative works, which make the social physical, is the human being, his body as well as his actions and the network of relationships and interweaving with the media worlds surrounding him. Transported into specific spaces, her works become experiential and call for new, social behavior. Walleneit studied Fine Arts at the Zurich University of the Arts in a transdisciplinary program, which she successfully completed in 2014 with a Master of Arts in Fine Arts, taught by Renate Lorenz, Maria Eichhorn, Eran Schaerf, and Jan Peter E.R. Sonntag, among others. She is currently a PHD candidate in Fine Arts at the Bauhaus University Weimar.
