Violence, intolerance, propaganda, and a neverending pandemic may determine our everyday lives and our consciousnesses, but this evening’s films adopt counterpositions. They ask uncomfortable questions about the treatment of refugees, political dissidents, and gun violence. They observe present chaos, madness, and hope. The poems in this program of poetry films are written by Ghayath Almadhoun, Brendan Constantin, Eduard Escoffet, Bertolt Brecht, and Zêdan Xelef. Ghayath Almadhoun and Eduard Escoffet will read from their work and speak with the audience about their films and their writing.
The film program will be moderated in German and English. The films will be shown in the original with English subtitles.
The event is suitable for school classes (11th-12th grade, €3/person). Registration at mitmachen@haus-fuer-poesie.org
