POETS‘ NIGHT Lutz Seiler: Moosbrand Reloaded

2022-06-20, 9:00 PM

READING, TALKS AND MUSIC – “Moosbrand” hails from a time when magazines still helped establish authors, books and debates. “Moosbrand“ was founded in 1993, a self-published bibliophile booklet with texts and illustrations from a group of artist friends who met for regular readings at Peter Huchel’s house in Wilhelmshorst.

Its first editors were Klaus Michael and Lutz Seiler – later joined by Birgit Dahlke and Peter Walther. From 1996 on, “Moosbrand“ was published by Gerhard Wolf Janus press. Lutz Seiler invited four authors from its past for a retrospective look at the time – and at its continued influence. It remains instructive to consider that which began in the 1990s – a phenomenon Erik Grimm has called “the alphabetical improvement of Central Europe“ – persists to this day.
