Jure Tori, born in 1975 in Trbovlje, Slovenia, is an accordionist and composer. He has performed in underground coal mines, in small villages and on major international stages. He toured in New York, Sydney, Beijing, Buenos Aires, Moscow, London, Paris, Prague, Sao Paulo and Montevideo, at the European Parliament in Brussels, Vienna and Ljubljana, among others. In addition to his folk-punk band Orlek, Tori’s projects include collaborations with musicians from around the world, like the singers Bogdana Herman and Nika Zore, in the formations Flora & Paris, Jurski par and most recently the Tori Trio, Tori Tango and Tori Story. Tori’s compositions are part of the curriculum for accordion students. The Slovenian Music Information Center has published his compositions on jazz and ethno compilations. His works can also be heard in animated films, feature films and a number of Slovenian and Austrian documentaries.
