Marion Poschmann, born in Essen in 1969, studied German, Philosophy and Slavic studies and lives in Berlin. She has received numerous awards for poetry and prose, most recently the 2021 Wortmeldungen literature prize for critical short texts for her essay Laubwerk and the Bremen literature prize for her poetry collection Nimbus. Her novel Die Kieferninseln was shortlisted for the German Book Prize in 2017 and Man Booker International in 2019.
