Nancy Hünger, born in 1981 in Weimar, studied Fine Art at the Bauhaus University Weimar. She lives as a freelance writer in Gotha. In the fall of 2008 she received a Hermann-Lenz fellowship, in 2012 the Dürener scholarship for poetry. In 2011 she was writer in residence in Jena, in 2013 a fellow of the Künstlerhaus Edenkoben. In 2014, Hünger received the Caroline Schlegel advancement award of the city of Jena for an essay on the story Alte Abdeckerei by Wolfgang Hilbig, and in 2015 the Thuringian Harald Gerlach scholarship for literature.
